PAAC Ontario Chapter President and Director
As Director of Government Relations (Insurance), Elliott Silverstein is responsible for managing and executing advocacy efforts for CAA Insurance, Orion Travel Insurance and Echelon Insurance across Canada. Since 2011, Elliott has been actively representing CAA to government and industry stakeholders on issues concerning road safety, consumer protection, and motorist-related legislation.
Elliott brings a mix of communications, government relations and strategy to CAA's advocacy initiatives. Over the past decade, he has managed several provincial advocacy campaigns resulting in legislative and regulatory changes that benefit Ontarians, and serves as a media spokesperson for the organization, appearing on television and radio programs across the country. He regularly sits on industry focused committees including those led by Ontario’s financial regulatory, along with ministry directed task forces. Elliott is a frequent speaker at conferences, including the Association of Municipalities Ontario (AMO), Insurance Brokers Association of Ontario (IBAO), Insurance Brokers Association of Manitoba (IBAM), Ontario Traffic Council (OTC), and Canadian Association of Road Safety Professionals (CARSP).
Elliott holds a Master’s Degree in Communications and Politics and Policy from York University and Ryerson University. Since 2018, he has taught several courses including Public Affairs at the University of Guelph-Humber in the university’s Media and Communication Studies program.
