Jennifer Dent

Jennifer developed her public affairs career through positions with the public, private and non-profit sectors. Currently, Jennifer is Senior Manager, Communications at the Mastercard Foundation, a global organization with commitments of over US$2.2 billion to increase financial inclusion and access to youth learning in Africa.

Previously, Jennifer was on the Communications & Public Affairs team at GSK, a global healthcare company. She worked closely with her government relations colleagues and industry peers shaping policy recommendations related to transparency in transfers of value to healthcare professionals and organizations. Her role also included leadership roles on significant change, issues, and engagement programs, including counsel to the CEO and senior executive team.

Prior to joining GSK, Jennifer was National Director, Marketing & Communications for JDRF, a medical research foundation dedicated to curing Type 1 diabetes. Her career in the private sector included consulting roles with two of Canada’s leading public affairs firms, where she provided government relations and communications counsel to public and private sector organizations.

Jennifer worked as a Senior Advisor, Corporate for a major provincial government agency and as a Legislative and Communications manager in the Senate of Canada. She received her Honours BA at McMaster University and an MA from the University of Western Ontario.
