Dr. J. Stephen Andrews Director of Legislative and Political Affairs at Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association. In this position he is responsible for developing the associations government relations and legislative strategies.
Prior to joining the Ontario Catholic School Trustees’ Association, Dr. Andrews worked at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP, Canada’s largest law firm, advising clients on government relations strategies and lobbying law and compliance issues. He has presented on lobbying registration, lobbyists’ code of conduct and compliance issues to municipal, provincial and federal governments in Canada.
With over 20 years of experience as a government policy advisor, consultant and in-house lobbyist, Dr. Andrews has gained an in-depth insight into the legal, policy and regulatory requirements facing Canada’s lobbying community.
He currently serves of the Chair of the Advocacy Committee of the Public Affairs Association of Canada and is on the board of directors of Community Living Toronto, and Community Living Ontario.
Dr. Andrews has a Ph.D. in political theory from Queen’s University and a Master’s Degree in social policy from the University of Toronto.
