Having worked in both the private and public sectors, Michelle Wasylyshen offers extensive knowledge and insight into the areas of political and community advocacy, policy development, strategic communications and corporate governance.
In her current position, Michelle leads the government relations activities for Enbridge Gas Distribution. Prior to this she was a government relations and communications consultant with a public affairs firm where she had extensive dealings with a diverse range of domestic and international organizations, industry associations and other stakeholder groups from within the energy sector. Michelle has also previously worked for Ontario’s second largest pension fund where she successfully expanded the organization’s stakeholder relations and communications program, which included reaching out to approximately 50 diverse stakeholder groups. She also led the organization’s government relations function and was involved in the transformation of the fund to an autonomous governance structure.
Active in the community, Michelle has a passion for volunteer community service and has led a number of fundraising and educational events to benefit a variety of charitable organizations focused on youth mental health and homelessness as well as canine rescue. She has also been involved in numerous election campaigns at both federal and provincial levels, most recently serving as a Campaign Manager in the 2011 Ontario Provincial Election.
Michelle has been a Director on the PAAC Board since 2009. Michelle completed her Masters of Business Administration Program (MBA) at Wilfrid Laurier University. She also holds a BA (High Honours) in Law and Criminology from Carleton University and a Graduate Certificate in Public Relations and Communications from Humber College.
